Mental Health Juvenile Justice
MHJJ
Healing Minds, Restoring Futures
The Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ) program aims to identify, screen, and refer youth with mental health challenges to resources. It specifically focuses on those who are involved in or at risk of involvement with the juvenile justice system.

The Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ) initiative is designed to enhance and strengthen collaboration among systems that interact with youth, including the courts, probation services, juvenile detention centers, educational institutions, healthcare providers, mental health agencies, and a variety of other community-based support organizations.
By fostering stronger linkages and more coordinated efforts across these groups, the program ensures that youth with mental health needs receive timely, appropriate, and comprehensive care.
Referrals to the program are made through a network of dedicated community partners or by self-referral, allowing for broad access to services. The MHJJ program currently operates in and serves the counties of Jefferson, Marion, Franklin, and Williamson, with the goal of improving outcomes for justice-involved youth and supporting their successful reintegration into their communities.
