Amanda Winchell

CWC Assistant Program Manager

Spero Family Services

My name is Amanda Winchell. I am a mental health therapist and supervisor. I graduated in 2012 with my Masters’s in Human Services from the University of Illinois at Springfield and am currently working towards my professional license. I have 15 years of experience in the social work field, of which 7 years have been in community mental health. I am continuously amazed by the power of the human spirit and am fortunate enough to see this daily in my practice as a mental health therapist. My advice to anyone seeking treatment is that no matter what you’ve been through, you are so worthy! I primarily see children and adolescents. I am trained in TF-CBT (trauma-focused-cognitive behavioral therapy), play therapy, sand tray therapy, Brainspottting, Brainspotting for Kids, and EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing). Although I really enjoy integrating approaches to meet clients where they are and to enhance healing.
