TRAINING
Strengths Based Services and Supports
Strength-based service delivery is an approach to providing support and resources to individuals and families that focuses on identifying and building their assets and skills, to help them create needed change in order to overcome challenges and reach their goals. Strength based service delivery works in tandem with Family Driven and Youth Guided Practice. It is our recommendation that these courses be taken together.
Participants will:
- Understand the difference between deficit based practice and strengths based service delivery.
- Utilize tools including the Child Assessment of Needs and Strengths (CANS) to identify and utilize strengths in plan development.
- Develop plans that build on assets and skills while creating needed change.
