MEET THE TRAINERS
Deborah Pollex
Spiritual Life Coordinator
Spero Family Services
Rev. Deborah Pollex is a clergy with the United Methodist Church. After being appointed to Spero Family Services she began studying about Trauma Informed Spiritual Care and connected with the National Chaplains Association for Youth at Risk. This group includes Chaplains across the US who are working with youth in residential treatment centers and detention centers. After presenting a workshop at the United Methodist Association’s yearly Conference, Deb realized how many people are interested in becoming trauma informed in their ministries. Deb began her role as Spiritual Life Coordinator at Spero seven years ago and continues to access resources and learn about the intersection between trauma and spirituality and how to bridge the gap between understanding trauma and knowing how to put that knowledge in place when providing spiritual care.
